Welcome to Kindergarten!
Menu
October is here and we have had a successful first month of kindergarten.
Today we celebrated outdoor education by organizing our first liturgy outside. Students sang songs and celebrated. "This little light of mine" was memorable!
We had a wonderful field trip to Millers family farm and blessed with sunshine and warm weather. Thanks again to the parent volunteers who came to help. We appreciated all of your work and assistance. Students were able to pick their own pumpkins and further their inquiry on seeds and farming. This month, we are teaching children about where food comes from and how it grows.
In math we are focusing on patterning and reviewing numbers from 1-20. You can help your child by making real life connections such as identifying numbers on objects they see inside and outside the home. This can also be applied with both numeracy and literacy.
Our SKs are finding site words such as: (the, it, is, she, he, on, to) when reading to your child ask them to identify any words they see or can spell. Sometimes we refer to these as "popcorn" words. They "pop" out often in stories. Our JKs are reviewing uppercase letters and identifying letters they see around the classroom and in stories. We have set a-z learning on raz-kids.com we encourage you to read the level reading books and play the wonderful educational games online with your child.
Wishing you all a wonderful thanks giving and sending many blessings 🌿🌻🌿

Students have begun Roots of Empathy. Welcome baby Ayra to our class. We will watch her learn and grow throughout the school year 💜
Friendly reminder that picture day is Thursday October 20th. Please be sure NOT to wear green. Just put on your kindergarten smiles 😄
